Iris Barbara (Barbara) Pittams

After a long and arduous battle stoically and bravely endured, peacefully in her sleep on 18 November 2024, aged 88.  Amazing, devoted, cherished wife and mate of Brian for over 65 years.  Adored mother of Reid and Patsie, Miriam and Erhan, Greg and Lisa; dearly loved Grand of Alex, Victoria, Tony, Jamie and Kayla.  Extraordinarily gifted teacher and colleague, she will be missed by many teachers and many more students.  Grateful thanks are extended to Dr Donna Berry and the wonderful staff at Whangamatā Medical Centre.  Special thoughts go to her support group of Cover-Up at Whangamatā.  Barbara’s service will be held in the Chapel of Love and Remembrance, Mangere Cemetery, 85 McKenzie Road, Mangere on Tuesday 26 November at 11am.  In lieu of flowers, please forward donations to Waikato Bay of Plenty Cancer Society, https://inmemory.org.nz/barbarapittams.
