Our Team

At Resthaven Funerals our funeral directors are very much a part of the community, and are passionate about providing a professional and caring service. They have extensive experience in the funeral service and are available at any time to talk through your options with you.

Team-Raewyn

Raewyn Proctor – Location Manager Howick and Manurewa – Dip FD

Raewyn co-founded Resthaven Funerals at the turn of the millennium. Still actively involved in the business 20 years later in her role as Manager, Raewyn oversees Resthaven’s two locations in both South and East Auckland. She brings strong people and administration skills to the team originally coming from an HR background. She has a certificate in grief support and loves the interaction with families. Raewyn is the proud mother of a daughter, son and their partners. She loves living between south and east Auckland at the top of Manukau enjoying many walks in the adjacent Totara Park taking in the views and appreciating all that surrounds.

Team-Rachel

Rachel Benns – Manager – Cert. FD

Rachel co-founded Resthaven Funerals with Raewyn at the turn of the millennium and brings a wealth of experience in funeral service with over 25 years in the profession. She gained her National Certificate in Funeral Directing in 2003 and is the deputy chair of the Funeral Directors Association of New Zealand.

Rachel is passionate about caring for families and their communities to the highest level. She is a natural problem solver and a compassionate organiser who loves the variety of her role, where every day is different, giving her the opportunity to help families she serves.

Rachel lives in Howick and enjoys being involved in her community, watching her two daughters play sport, baking, reading, travel and catching up with friends with a good glass of wine.

Anne (Angharad) Legg
Assistant Manager - Dip. FD

Anne joined the Resthaven team in 2014 as a Funeral Director, coming from a corporate background. She graduated with a Diploma in Funeral Directing in 2017. Anne has taken up the role as Assistant Manager after returning to work following the birth of her and Mike’s first child, Bridie.

Anne feels very privileged to be able to help families at their most vulnerable time. She loves the fact that not two days are the same. She lives rurally with her family and their two fur children Duke (cat) and Tilly (dog). Anne enjoys being an active member of the Howick Bowling Club and getting involved in other community activities.

Irene Morton – Funeral Director - Dip. FD

Irene became part of the Resthaven team in 2007. She graduated with a Diploma in Funeral Directing in 2013 and was the recipient of the FDANZ Presidents Award in 2012.

Irene brings her background in sales and dealing with people on a day-to-day basis to the Resthaven team.

Having a large extended family is important to Irene and she enjoys the quality time with her many grandchildren. Her long-term hobby is genealogy.

Ben Wilson - Funeral Director

Ben is the 4th generation of his family residing in the Franklin town of Tuakau with his wife Shannon and children Logan and Grace. After attending Pukekohe High School, Ben worked in the motor industry for a number of years eventually managing local and metro car dealerships. Working with communities in their time of need is what Ben is all about, currently serving his home town as a firefighter for the last 13 years as well as working with Fire and Emergency New Zealand facilitating a leadership development programme.



Ben’s down to earth approach and natural sense of humour combined with his sense of community resonates with the families he cares for. He enjoys representing Resthaven and working with the team providing the level of care Resthaven are renowned for as both a funeral director and funeral celebrant. Nicole Hill – Funeral Director - Dip. FD

Nicole became part of the Resthaven team in 2017. She graduated with a Diploma in Funeral Directing in 2020.
Nicole brings strong people skills to the forefront with a balance of empathy, care and humour. Nicole has a wealth of knowledge in understanding people and their needs having grown up in South Auckland and then living in East Auckland for a number of years,. Nicole is a proud mother of an adult daughter, is a keen gardener, has a love for the outdoors and animals. She enjoys spending time with family and friends.

Sue Hanlon – Administrator, Manurewa

Sue Hanlon joined the Resthaven team in 2014 coming from an administration background as well as a counselling background. Sue loves being able to support the families that we are working with and finds it very rewarding and humbling. She loves to spend time with her family and friends in her spare time and spend as much as possible doing outdoors pursuits and relaxing in nature.

Robyn Butler - Administrator, Howick

Robyn has worked in the funeral industry for the last 12 years. She joined Resthaven Funerals in 2004 as Receptionist/Administrator based in Manurewa. She then moved into a Corporate Office position and has now returned to Resthaven Funerals in Howick. She feels honoured to be first point of call for families at a difficult time.

She is compassionate, caring and has a positive outlook and is a real people person. In her free time, she loves spending time with family and friends. She enjoys walking, reading, art galleries, museums, movies, entertaining and cooking.
