At Resthaven Funerals our funeral directors are very much a part of the community, and are passionate about providing a professional and caring service. They have extensive experience in the funeral service and are available at any time to talk through your options with you.

Team-Rachel

Rachel Benns – Location Manager NCFD

Rachel co-founded Resthaven Funerals in 2000 and brings a wealth of experience in funeral service with over 20 years in the profession. She gained her National Certificate in Funeral Directing in 2003 and is a board member serving on the Funeral Directors Association of New Zealand board.

Rachel is passionate about caring for families and their communities to the highest level. She is a natural problem solver and a compassionate organiser who loves the variety of her role, where every day is different, giving her the opportunity to help the Resthaven team and the families they serve.

Rachel lives in Howick and enjoys being involved in her community, watching her two daughters play sport, baking, reading, travel and catching up with friends with a good glass of wine.

Team-Raewyn

Raewyn Proctor – Location Manager

Raewyn co-founded Resthaven funerals in 2000. She has her certificate in Grief Support and is able to bring this knowledge and experience to help families. Raewyn is dedicated, empathetic and caring.

A background as a Personal Assistant and Management Consultant Assistant has given Raewyn the foundation to develop the use of these skills at Resthaven.

She has lived in Manurewa for most of her life and is committed to serving her community. She is the proud mother of one daughter and one son. Raewyn enjoys walks, reading, travel and socialising with family and friends.

Lynda Sloman – Funeral Director

Lynda’s passion for caring for people has been enhanced since working with the experienced team at Resthaven Funerals.

“I believe in assisting families in a respectful, empathetic and compassionate manner, which exceeds their expectations. It is an absolute privilege to be able to assist families through such a difficult journey”. Contributing to achieving success as a funeral director is Lynda’s background in administration, caregiving and co-ordinating homecare for the disabled and elderly in the community.

Lynda enjoys being at home, listening to music , having family time and quietly reading a good book.

Irene Morton – Funeral Director - Dip FD

Irene became part of the Resthaven team in 2007. She graduated with a Diploma in Funeral Directing in 2013 and was the recipient of the FDANZ Presidents Award in 2012.

Irene brings her background in sales and dealing with people on a day-to-day basis to the Resthaven team.

Having a large extended family is important to Irene and she enjoys the quality time with her many grandchildren. Her long-term hobby is genealogy.

Anne Legg – Funeral Director

Anne Legg joined the Resthaven team in 2014, coming to us from a corporate background. She brings a natural affinity to her role as a funeral director.

She enjoys being in a close-knit team bringing a diversity of strengths in helping care for the Resthaven families.

Anne lives locally with her partner Mike and in her spare time enjoys spending time with her friends and family.

Sue Hanlon – Office Administrator, Manurewa

Sue has lived in Manurewa for the majority of her life and joined the Resthaven team in 2014. Her background is in counselling and customer services.

This role is extremely enjoyable to Sue, enabling her to assist the bereaved families at a difficult time. For her it is rewarding working with a team that is dedicated to putting the families’ needs first.

Family is important to Sue being the proud mother of two sons and one daughter and one grandson. Sue is a dedicated and caring first contact for families.

Lana Dowdell – Office Administrator, Howick

Lana is a long-term Howick resident and has been with the Resthaven team since January 2008. Her background is in quality assurance.

Family is important to Lana. She is married to Greg, is the proud mother of two daughters and has three granddaughters.

Lana is a dedicated and caring first contact for families and is committed to providing the best assistance possible.
